STUFF TO DO
Trying to make some plans, but need some help? No problem - just let us know! We can provide discounts on most activities.
SURF TRIPS AND BOARDS
We partner with Mictlan Surf. Let us know if you need a boat or board. We can hook you up with an ALMA discount.
FISHING
Mictlan also does fishing trips. Depending on the season you can catch tuna, Mahi Mahi, or other amazing fish!
MONKEY MOUNTAIN HIKE
If you are looking for adventure nearby but out of the water, you can check out Monkey Mountain. Ask us for more details.
SAILING
We can arrange a catamaran charter on KAII with Life Aquatics. They have several different options and can take you sailing and surfing all over the bay.
BOAT TRIPS
Punta Mita is a great place to catch a boat trip to Islas Marietas where you can explore the Hidden Beach and snorkel. We can help you reserve with Mictlan.
LA CRUZ MARKET
The La Cruz Market runs 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM every Sunday November-May at the La Cruz Marina. You can find great artisan products and fantastic food.
SAYULITA SHOPPING
Sayulita is a nearby town (20 minutes) with great shopping and restaurants. It is fairly mellow during the day, but has a great night life.
SAN PANCHO SUNSETS
Looking to mix it up one day? We would recommend visiting Tierra Tropical Beach Club and watching the sunset in San Pancho. You can also visit our friends at Habibi for dinner.
SOUTH BAY HIKES
If you are in the area for several days, we would highly recommend making a day trip to the jungles and waterfalls on the other side of the bay. You can drive to Boca de Tomatlan and hike to different restaurants and beach clubs from there. You can catch a boat back to Boca de Tomatlan from one of the restaurants.
THE FOOD
There are so many great restaurants in Punta de Mita and the surrounding areas. Here are a few of our favorites. If you want reservations just let us know and we can set it up.
BREAKFAST
MAREA CAFE
A coffee shop of a local surfer, MAREA has the best specialty coffee in town along with some simple food options.
CAFECITO is a local favorite on the main street near the surf shops. They serve great breakfast sandwiches and smoothies.
LUNCH
A casual restaurant just in front of the La Lancha surf break entrance, Makai serves great ceviche and other lunch items. Chef Sebastian is one of the best in the area.
Simple classic ceviche just down the street from ALMA. Great food and prices!
DINNER
Another of our restaurants, you’ll get a 10% discount at TORA. A chill vibe serving up Japanese comfort food and booze with Chef Yosuke and Nami.
A local favorite, La Rustic is only about a block from ALMA. They serve a mix of Mexican and Italian with a beachfront view.
One of Chef Sebastian’s newest restaurant serving Mexican seafood in a creative way. A short drive away and great location for a Careyeros beach day.
Chef Hector’s restaurant and a favorite of ours. Only about a 5 minute walk. Zicatela serves Oaxaca inspired Mexican food.
Our friend Desi’s spot on the other side of town. A great way to complete a taco night.
TACOS
ACHA TACOS
On the corner near Oxxo, Acha serves Mexican style breakfast tacos (no eggs - just amazing meat). Without a doubt some of the best tacos in town. It’s a must - don’t be scared.
Definitely a local favorite. On the other side a town, but worth the walk! Another must while in Mita.
About three blocks from Teresa’s, it is hard to choose which is best. We recommend just trying both!
OUTA TOWN SPOTS
Amazing food from the grill. Located on the north side of Sayulita.
Another of Chef Sebastian’s spots. Close to the center of town.
Chef Andrea’s Sayulita restaurant. The menu changes, but everything is great.
Another of Chef Andrea’s restaurants. A must if you are looking for a restaurant after the sunset.
The smallest bar you will ever got to - mostly on the street. Highly recommended.
